Introduction

Though it very difficult to remember so many parameter, leave aside implementing them on your website, still incorporating the major once can go a long way in helping you steer through the forest of website & reach your potential audience.

After writing about the ABC of SEO optimization, I thought why not to start a "Beginners Guide", that can help other to easily navigate through SEO optimization & avoid pitfalls.

To start with SEO optimization can be divided into 3 parts;

  • On - Page Optimization
  • Off - page Optimization
  • Violations

On - Page Optimization
This refers to all these factors that are present in the website. Few of them are;
  1. The content that is present on the website
  2. URL structure
  3. Website architecture & navigation
  4. Important HTML relevancy clues

They are most important since these are directly in control of the developer or website owner, and should be fixed first on the path of website optimization.

Off - Page Optimization
These are those factors that are not in direct control of the developer. These could be;
  1. Links to other websites.
  2. Authority Score
Search engines use these because they learned early on that relying on publisher-controlled signals alone didn’t always yield the best results. For instance, some publishers may try to make themselves seem more relevant than they are in reality

Violations
Over a period of time people have tried to get around search engines by filling too many key words in their content, generating & providing bogus links, using duplicate content on various pages. These practices are know as, "BLACK HAT" SEO techniques. These are severely punished by search engines.
